Brent Lang Executive Editor Steve Carell will make his Broadway debut playing the title character in a revival of Anton Chekhov’s “Uncle Vanya.” The production, which will be performed at Lincoln Center’s Vivian Beaumont Theater, will begin previews April 2, 2024, and open on April 24, 2024. It promises to be a starry affair. The cast boasts William Jackson Harper (“Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”) as Astrov and Alfred Molina (“Spider-Man: No Way Home”) as Alexander Serabryakov.
The ensemble also includes Alison Pill as Sonya, Mia Katigbak as Marina, and Tony Award winners Anika Noni Rose and Jayne Houdyshell as Yelena and Mama Voinitski. Complete casting will be announced soon. Lila Neugebauer, who oversaw an acclaimed remounting of “The Waverly Gallery,” will direct.
Heidi Schreck, author of “What the Constitution Means to Me,” is providing a new translation. The show follows Sonya and her uncle Vanya, as they manage the family farm in isolation. When Sonya’s ailing father (Molina) and his charismatic wife (Rose) move in, their lives are upended.

He also appeared in two seasons of the Apple TV+ series “The Morning Show” and NBC’s “The Office.” He will soon appear in “If,” which is directed by John Krasinski, his co-star from “The Office.”
