Actor Stephen Graham has dedicated his royal honours to his late mum who sadly passed away last year. Graham, who is known for playing Andrew Gascoigne in 'This is England' picked up his OBE for services to drama on Thursday (April 20), having been named in the New Year's Honours List.
After the ceremony which was held at Buckingham Palace, the 49-year-old from Kirkby took to Twitter to post a photo of himself with a wide smile, showing off his medal. The caption read, 'For you mum... And to all those kids that are told to "get a proper job" this is for you too.'

Back in December, the actor announced the death of his late mum with a touching tribute. It read: "This incredible, inspirational, woman & the purest heart my mum passed away. Her words as a child “no one is above you and no one is below you all are equal“ have remained with me throughout my life. I feel so honoured and proud to share this with her An OBE for both of us mum."
Stephen's acting career spans over three decades that has seen him win multiple awards. Most recently he starred as Matilda's father in the musical film adaptation of the hit Roald Dahl novel.
Last year he was nominated for three BAFTAs for performances in Time, Boiling Point and Help - a Channel 4 drama set in a Liverpool care home during the pandemic.
He has also featured in a number of popular projects such as Snatch, Line of Duty, Gangs of New York and Peaky Blinders.
