Over the past couple of months Chicago-based DIY band Slow Pulp have been slowly teasing their excellent new album Yard, first with "Slugs" and, in July, "Doubt." Today the band has dropped "Broadview," a dreamy and soft-hearted ballad filled with pedal steel guitar that leans into the country-rock sound that bands like Wednesday and Florry have been working with on their latest albums. "This song is about letting yourself fall in love for the first time in a long time,” the band's Emily Massey says.
“After being hurt in previous relationships I was trying to decide if making the jump was worth it. Turns out it was."
