Experts have warned that a TikTok trend known as 'bed rotting' could negatively impact people's health.
The trend, which has had more than 220 million views on the popular video-sharing app, encourages 'soft' self care in the form of laying in bed all day. Other activities could include scrolling through social media, watching your favourite TV shows, eating snacks or reading.
Tiktok users have shared clips of themselves taking part in the trend, with some posting 'get ready with me' style videos as they prepare to chill out. But giving yourself the day to bed rot could actually do more harm than good in the long run.

Sleep experts have weighed in on the situation - and while there's nothing wrong with scheduling some time out for yourself, where you relax and how should be taken into consideration.
LOOKFANTASTIC spoke to Susan Miller, certified sleep expert from Sleepmattress HQ. She emphasises that it's important to strike a balance between relaxation and good sleep hygiene.
