Some of France’s brightest writers/filmmakers, including Alice Winocour (“Paris Memories”), Rebecca Zlotowski (“Other People’s Children”), Sebastien Marnier (“The Origin of Evil”) and Cesar-winning star Virginie Efira and famous actor Melvil Poupaud traveled to New York with Unifrance, the French film promotion org. On top of presenting their movies, some talents on the ground took part in masterclasses at Film at Lincoln Center, Columbia University and Brooklyn College, as well as a creative workshop with emerging filmmakers participating in the Gotham Marcie Bloom Fellowship in Film.

That feeling isn’t always accurate, but it was present at Billie Eilish concerts in 2019 and Lorde’s club shows in 2013 and even the Killers almost 20 years ago — and without setting the bar unfairly high, it was definitely in the air Chappell Roan’s packed concert at New York’s 1,500-capacity Webster Hall on Tuesday night.

When the massive drop hit and the house lights dropped, his rebirth was complete. The Feb. 18 show, a collaboration with fellow DJs Fred Again and Four Tet, was billed as a pop-up rave, akin to the secret sets the trio had been playing in the last few weeks in London clubs, Brooklyn’s Good Room and even a makeshift bus in the middle of Times Square. While the MSG show sold like a legacy artist — with tickets gone in minutes and fans begging for a miracle on message boards — the Skrillex seen trotting around on social media prior to the sets was decidedly a different figure than a dubstep titan.

The show, and his back-to-back full-length releases, mark the conclusion of a jam-packed week of activity for Skrillex that kicked off with a Valentine’s Day pop-up in New York’s Good Room and concluded with a massive MSG pre-party in the middle of Times Square for the Lot Radio on Feb. 17.

Produced by Live Nation, the 14-city tour kicks off on October 12, making stops at arenas across North America, including a date at Madison Square Garden in New York. The previously announced 2023 “Summer Carnival Stadium Tour” features special guests Brandi Carlile and 2022 Hall of Fame inductees Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo on select dates, along with Grouplove and KidCutUp on all tour dates. “Trustfall” features collaborations with Chris Stapleton, the Lumineers, and First Aid Kit, as well as songwriters and producers Max Martin, Shellback, Greg Kurstin, Fred Again, Billy Mann and others. Jem Aswad Senior Music Editor Electronic-music titans Skrillex, Fred Again and Four Tet have announced that they will be performing live at New York’s Madison Square Garden this coming Saturday, Feb. 18. Skrillex made the announcement on his Instagram account Wednesday; tickets appeared on Ticketmaster around the same time. While the three have already played last-minute shows together at London venues such as Troxy and the Electric Ballroom, this show will be the first at a major venue. They have been working together on new music in New York and on Tuesday night sold out a special Valentine’s Day pop-up show at Good Room last night.
