Simon Cowell reunited with Teletubbies in surprise BGT audition as they celebrate 25 years

Britain’s Got Talent viewers are used to their fair share of surprising auditions, but one, airing this evening in the final set of auditions from this series, may be the most shocking of all. That’s right, the Teletubbies came to town. The icons of children’s television took to the stage to audition in front of Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden, as part of a special birthday celebration.
Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po surprised the judges with a dynamic dance routine that sparked nostalgia for the live audience, as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations. Some of the tracks they jammed to included the classic Lets do the Tubby, as well as Beyonce’s Single Ladies, Abba’s Gimme Gimme Gimme and even Best Song Ever by One Direction. The audition saw Simon reunite with the quartet, who were one of his first signings back in 1997, when they worked together on their no.
1 hit Teletubbies Say ‘Eh-oh!, which has since become a popular household tune. As part of the audition, David, Alesha, Amanda and even Simon sported their own Teletubby antennas. Meanwhile, Ant and Dec led the confetti-canon ending, as the crowd erupted in support of the legendary British icons, who, of course, received a unanimous yes vote from all four judges.
Last year, the Teletubbies made headlines after confirming they had been vaccinated to help stop the spread of Covid.
