MambaOnline.com is South Africa’s longest-running LGBTIQ+ news and lifestyle online platform. We wish to contract a queer content writer / creator / journalist based in Johannesburg for a fixed-term three-month project (Oct-Dec 2022).
Content that will be required will include interviews, profiles and issue-based feature articles. The candidate:
Must be available to start on 1 October 2022 Must primarily be an excellent writer Must have good photographic skills Must have basic to good Adobe Photoshop skills Video shooting/editing skills would be a bonus Must have an excellent knowledge/understanding of LGBTIQ+ and empowerment topics and issues Must have a reasonable understanding of economic/financial matters Must be based in Johannesburg/Gauteng Must have confidence to engage with business leaders May be required to occasionally work on weekends or after hours to cover eventsWe are open to the possibility of the successful candidate working partly from home or remotely. Our focus is on meeting deadlines and producing excellent content as briefed, not clock watching.
This position is full-time but only for a three-month period specifically to meet the needs of a project that is funded for that period (Oct – Dec 2022). The position offers a monthly fee of R25,000 cost to company.
