Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue, MGM+‘s upcoming original mystery thriller series, created and executive produced by Anthony Horowitz (Magpie Murders), has set its full ensemble cast. Also it was announced today that BBC has acquired the series, which is currently shooting in the Canary Islands.

EXCLUSIVE: In a competitive situation, Netflix has landed for development Forever, Interrupted, a limited series based on the 2013 bestselling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, sources tell Deadline. Laura Dern and Margaret Qualley are set to star in and executive produce the project, from A24 and company-based producer Jessica Rhoades. Julia Bicknell is writing the adaptation and will serve as showrunner. Netflix declined comment.

Star and producer Hiroyuki Sanada also returns, as do co-creators, writers, and executive producers Justin Marks and Rachel Condo, as well as EP Michaela Clavell.  And “Shōgun” author James Clavell also returns to develop both upcoming seasons, too; so creatively speaking, everyone is back, which is good news for the show’s fans.

FX will be working with late author James Clavell’s estate to piece together seasons two and three.However, this does not mean that seasons two and three of Shōgun have been confirmed, as an official renewal will be based on the progress made in the writers’ room and if all parties involved are happy with the direction that the show heads in.So far, no production has been scheduled for more episodes.

Joe Otterson TV Reporter The quiz series “The Floor” has been renewed for Seasons 2 and 3 at Fox, with host Rob Lowe entering into an unscripted first-look deal with the network. “Fans loved the first season of ‘The Floor’ so much that we’ve ordered two more seasons of this breakthrough game show with plans already underway to make our epic battle of the brains even bigger and bolder,” said Michael Thorn, president of the Fox Television Network. “It’s also been a massive win to have a huge star like Rob Lowe as our host, and both our viewers and competitors can’t wait to see him back in action.” Under Lowe’s new deal, he will develop new unscripted series for Fox that would be produced by the network’s unscripted studio, Fox Alternative Entertainment.

Selome Hailu “Alert: Missing Persons Unit” has been renewed for a third season at Fox. The series is a producedural drama set in the Philadelphia Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit, with each episode featuring a search for a missing person headed by detectives Jason Grant (Scott Caan) and Nikki Batista (Dania Ramirez), a former couple whose marriage ended after the disappearance of their son. Along with Caan and Ramirez, the cast includes Ryan Broussard as Mike Sherman, Adeola Role as Kemi Adebayo, Petey Gibson as C, Gil Bellows as Hollis Braun and Alisha-Marie Ahamed as Wayne Pascal.

Shogun hasn’t been renewed for another season just yet, but there’s exciting news that basically signals that the renewal is on the way.

If “The Bear” became FX’s biggest hit for 2022 and 2023, then 2024 has undoubtedly been owned thus far, but the TV network’s hit series “Shōgun” (read our review). Created by Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks, “Shōgun” has exploded as FX’s biggest streaming hit on Hulu/Disney+ and is heading toward becoming a serious Emmy contender—actress Anna Sawai’s performance is already expected to end up landing an acting nomination, and there could be much more.
