Jurors were shown footage of the moment Ryan Giggs was arrested and placed in a police van after allegedly headbutting his ex-girlfriend. Kate Greville alleges that the former Manchester United star attacked her at his home in Swinton after they had an argument at the Stock Exchange hotel.
Mr Giggs denies assaulting Ms Greville, and has also pleaded not guilty to assaulting her sister Emma in the same incident. He also denies behaving in a controlling and coercive manner towards Kate Greville between August 2017 and November 2020.
Manchester Crown Court has heard that the couple had an argument at the Manchester city centre hotel after Ms Greville told Mr Giggs that a man had asked her for a drink. Ms Greville claims that she had previously found evidence of Mr Giggs alleged infidelity after looking at his phone when he'd returned home drunk.

She said she 'blurted' out what she'd claimed she discovered and that a row developed. Ms Greville went back to the home they shared in Worsley before Mr Giggs arrived shortly after, at about 9pm on November 1, 2020, the jury heard.
Earlier on the fifth day of the trial, jurors heard two 999 calls Emma Greville made just after 10pm. She claimed Mr Giggs had 'headbutted' her sister in the face. Bodycam footage taken by PC Chris Billington, one of the first officers at the scene, was played in court.
