In newly released video of Britain's Prime Minister Liz Truss meeting with the new reigning monarch King Charles III, fans were quick to notice that in his office at Buckingham Palace, the king has a photo of his estranged son Prince Harry and daughter-in-law Meghan Markle from their wedding day on display alongside other family photos. Since the mourning period for Queen Elizabeth II has ended, King Charles has been busy with royal duties, while his son and daughter-in-law have vanished from England, most likely back to their home in California.

Royal fans have noticed something familiar about King Charles III’s upcoming coronation date.

Following the announcement from Buckingham Palace on Tuesday that King Charles III’s coronation at Westminster Abbey will be on May 6 next year, some on social media have been debating if the date could be a slight to his son Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.  May 6 also happens to be their son Archie’s birthday. He will turn 4 during the coronation.  The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have had a strained relationship with the rest of the royal family after they decided to step down as senior royals in 2020 and move to California.  Charles spoke kindly of the couple in his first speech as king on Sept.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle relocated to America back in 2020 after stepping down from Royal duties, and the couple now live in California with their two young children. However, Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, also have a residence in the UK, Frogmore Cottage, which they now lease from the new reigning monarch and Harry's father, King Charles III, 73. Frogmore Cottage is part of Home Park in Windsor, and was previously made up of five separate properties but was converted into one five-bedroom home in 2019 for the Sussexes.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released some regal portraits, just days after the official royal portraits were released, in which they were notably absent.Royal expert Katie Nicholl recently spoke with ET's Rachel Smith about the couple's classy photos, and the significance they have amid the rift between Prince Harry and his family — which she details in her new book, «It's all in the timing, isn't it? It does sort of have a sense of 'anything you can do we can do too,'» Nicholl shared. «It was quite polarizing, because you had, just two days before, that incredible image of the king and the Queen consort, and the new Prince and Princess of Wales.»«It said, 'This is the future of the monarchy.' Of course, so notable by their absence, was Harry and Meghan. So it didn't surprise me to see an image of them so soon after,» Nicholl continued.
