Sean Perry, a veteran WME non-scripted packaging agent and partner, is leaving the agency to set up his own production company.
Perry is leaving the talent firm after 25 years.
2500 Media will focus on non-scripted television and will touch on documentary and scripted programming. The company will be based in LA with offices in New York.
“While there’s sadness in leaving WME after 25 amazing years, this has been a dream that went from something I’d like to do, to something I have to do. It’s time to roll up my sleeves and actually make what I’ve been selling for years,” said Perry. “I want to thank all of my friends, colleagues and partners at Endeavor and WME. WME will forever be my family, I am just switching seats at the table from partner to client.”
“For 25 years Sean has been an incredible partner and friend, and we are proud to see him pursuing his dream,” added Richard Weitz, Co-Chairman of WME. “We look forward to working hand-in-hand with Sean as a client of the agency for many years to come. “

Red Sea Fund & Film AlUla Partner On Production GrantThe Red Sea Fund has partnered with Film AlUla to offer a production grant for filmmakers with projects set within the landscape of AlUla in northwest Saudi Arabia. The Red Sea Fund and Film AlUla will be named as co-producers on all selected films, and Saudi Arabia will be a co-production country. The two bodies said chosen filmmakers will be given “free rein” on their creative project and will be judged purely on the quality of the production, talent, and script. Projects from Saudi Arabia, the Arab regions, and Africa are eligible for the Film AlUla fund. The fund will sponsor at least 10 projects. Mohammed Al Turki, CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation, said: “Our aim as an organization is to uplift and support filmmakers from the Arab and African region and to promote the industry in Saudi Arabia – which is home to incredible filming locations like AlUla. We are delighted to have Film AlUla as a partner on this third cycle of funding, which will provide fund recipients the opportunity to bring their creative visions to life on the big screen as well as showcase the beauty and diversity of this country, with the backing of two significant partners.”

The Washington D.C.-based agency, Ross Yoon, specializes in literary and commercial nonfiction including memoir, biography, history, popular science, business and psychology. In addition, the literary agency’s president Gail Ross and principal Howard Yoon will join WME as partners. The current Ross Yoon clients will join WME’s roster — the new clientele will include Ross Yoon’s Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists and authors, business, non-profit leaders, doctors, scientists, academics, politicians and media personalities.
