A minister has quit the church to go travelling around the world with his three dogs in an ex-Army Land Rover Defender.
Scott McCrum moved out of his manse and into the back of the bulletproof vehicle with border collies Millie and Jackson and mini dachshund Nala.
Scott, 40, said: “The downside of being a minister and quitting your job is it doesn’t only mean you lose your income but it also makes you homeless.”
In 2012, Scott was the first man in Scotland to have a hair transplant and auditioned for The X Factor, singing hymns in 2016.
He was ordained by the Church of Scotland in 2015 and started at Old Kilpatrick Bowling Parish Church, Dunbartonshire, in 2018.
But after struggling with depression, he made the decision to pack it in. He said: “I’ll miss the people from church but this feels like the right thing to do.”
Before he sets off, Scott is restoring old cars to sell in a bid to raise cash. He added: “After this, I’ll be shooting the Defender upgrades, and sharing videos of me travelling with the dogs.”
Scott’s YouTube channel is at youtube.com/@scottmccrum.
