Police are re-appealing for information on a Castlemilk man who left hospital and disappeared without a trace almost two weeks ago.
Barry McCullagh, 40, left the Royal Alexandra Hospital on Corsebar Road in Paisley at around 5.20pm on Wednesday October 5. He was reported missing later that day and an appeal to trace him was issued the next day.
The dad of two is described as 5ft 9ins in height and of medium build with short, black hair. When last seen he was wearing black and navy jogging trousers, a black jacket, and grey and white trainers; police issued CCTV footage of him wearing this clothing as part of their ongoing appeal.
In the twelve days since Barry went missing cops in Paisley have re-issued their appeal to find him several times, and have deployed sniffer dogs around the hospital in the hope of finding new leads. His family has also been deeply involved in the search, issuing personal appeals to the public on social media.
Speaking to the Record's sister paper the Paisley Daily Express, Barry's sister Stacey said that he had been admitted to hospital after suffering seizures for a year and a half. He had reportedly been allowed outside for a cigarette at the time he disappeared.
She said: "He has been taking seizures for the past year-and-a-half and he took a seizure on Saturday and he hadn’t been right since so we phoned the ambulance on Tuesday. He went with them to hospital and that was the last time we saw him.”
And in an appeal made on Facebook on Saturday, Barry's mum Liz said: "He had no money and no phone - he does not know the area as he is from Castlemilk. We have been out looking for him every day and night so if anyone has seen him please please get in contact with the Paisley police.
