Another Scot took to the panel to take on The Chaser on Thursday which saw Ross, Amanda, Serena and Karl take on Mark Labbett in the popular quiz show.
Charity worker Ross, from Midlothian, scored an impressive enough £7,000 in the cash-building round before he came head-to-head with 'The Beast' himself, admitting he would like to play against him.
Ross told host Bradley Walsh he planned to splash his winnings on a lavish new guitar and spend any money he had left on a trip to Japan, before taking on the questions to get him into the final chase.
But Mark didn't have much faith in the Scot, telling him: "It was a decent performance but by the time I am finished with you, you won't have enough money for an air guitar."
And despite getting through the cash building round on a bit of a 'fluke' having guessed two questions, the former music student impressed in the final chase.
The team had managed to build a healthy £20,000 prize pot between themselves, having started with four pushbacks.
Together they had a head-start of 22, with Ross securing an admirable seven of those questions out of 18.
But although the team gave it a good crack and got two pushbacks and one executed, they were sadly caught out with only 10 seconds to go on the clock, much to Mark's delight.
"I am ecstatic at catching you because that was an A+ performance from me and I got lucky on a few things," The Beast admitted.
"You really are one of the best teams to have left with nothing so I am sorry about that."
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on STV.
