Once the quieter member of One Direction in the early days, Harry Styles grew in confidence alongside his bandmates and soon the five down-to-earth boys were catapulted into the world of fame. Guest X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger – with a little help from resident choreographer and creative director Brian Friedman – plucked Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Harry from bootcamp and put together her boyband prototype. Rounding them up for a photo shoot involved herding them into a small room and persuading their mums to sit outside. Harry was quiet, hiding behind his fringe, but he was also massively charismatic.
