Sarah Snook won at the Golden Globes for Female Actor in a Television Series — Drama for Succession.
The actress took the award for her role as Shiv Roy in the HBO drama that ended last year after four seasons. While taking the stage, Snook called out for her co-star Kieran Culkin, who had just won the male counterpart of her award.
“I was kind of hoping I didn’t have to get up,” Snook said as she took the stage. “Kieran is usually better at these speeches, right? Don’t you want to get up, instead?”
Culkin motioned that he would take the stage and take Snook’s place to prevent her from giving a speech following her win for the last season of Succession.
“This show… it’s changed my life,” Snook said as she thanked the people who helped her get the role.
She continued, “Everybody in it was amazing — the cast, the crew are fantastic. This was a team effort. It was always a team and that’s what made the show amazing to be a part of.”

After acknowledging her family, Snook was ready to get off the stage and said, “Thanks. This room is so intimidating. I gotta get out of here.”
Snook was in a category with other female actors like Helen Mirren (1923), Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us), Keri Russell (The Diplomat), Imelda Staunton (The Crown) and Emma Stone (The Curse).
