On thoughts when she read the series finale script:
“Are you f–king kidding me?”
On her character Shiv:
“I was sad for Shiv. She just tried so f–king hard, and ended up where she is in this kind of gilded cage, next to the thing that she wants. And the journey’s not over for her. It’s not over for any of them, but still, she’s in the orbit of the CEO, and that will be really painful for her.”
On what’s next for Shiv:
“Quite a deep postpartum depression. I think the baby thing is really about to hit in a way that is inescapable.”
On crying during the finale because her Succession life is over:
“I’ll never have an opportunity to speak those lines, or get given new lines, new jokes, new worlds for Shiv and Roman to exist in together. Just sadness for never getting a moment to play with these brilliant actors again.”
On her pregnancy:
“[It] wasn’t a planned thing. I think the fear from women can be that they will be sidelined, or considered less-than.”
On getting ill during the beginning of her pregnancy and needing her driver to pull over:
“I’m just vomiting violently outside, and thinking, ‘It’s so visibly me. It’s Shiv, totally projectile vomiting outside the door, with oncoming traffic.”
On not getting the lead role on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo:
“[It was] only disappointing in the way of I didn’t win — but it wasn’t a disappointment in terms of my life.”
Charlize Theron opened up about the one thing you won’t see her offer to do for a role again.
“It’s a mad way to make a film, and I’m not sure it’s not something I would rush into again,” director Hope Dickson Leach said of the process behind her latest feature, the Edinburgh competition title The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Succession star Sarah Snook has explained what she believed prompted Shiv to vote against Jeremy Strong’s Kendall in the HBO show’s series finale. In an interview with Variety, the actor suggested that Shiv decided to sabotage Kendall’s chances of taking control of media conglomerate Waystar Royco after seeing her brother put his feet up on the desk of their late father, Logan (Brian Cox).Shiv’s decision ultimately left the company in the hands of Alexander Skarsgård’s tech mogul Lukas Matsson, while her husband and the father of her unborn child, Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen), assumed the role of CEO.“I’ve spoken with friends of mine who love the show, and I quite like being able to dissect it with them,” said Snook in the interview. “I have heard that people thought that Shiv was thinking 10 steps ahead, and that if Tom’s going to get the CEO-ship and she’s got a kid with Tom, then the closest she can be to it is by saying ‘No’ [to Kendall] in this moment.“But I think it’s just pure instinct,” she continued.

Spoilers below. In season four, episode 10 of the HBO drama, titled ‘With Open Eyes’, the show reaches a dramatic climax when the Roy siblings – Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Roman (Kieran Culkin) and Shiv – participate in a board vote which will determine the leadership and future of Waystar Royco.Moments before Snook’s character, Shiv, is about to vote for her brother Kendall as the new CEO and her late father’s successor, she gets cold feet and exits the room mid-meeting.An explosive argument with the siblings ensues, during which she tells her brother: “I love you, but I can’t fucking stomach you.” She also tells Kendall that she can’t vote for him because he’s killed someone, referring to the moment in the season one finale when he gets into a car accident with a waiter from Shiv’s wedding.Shiv leaves the confrontation and votes against her brother, which means that Lukas Matsson’s (Alexander Skarsgård) GoJo deal goes ahead and Shiv’s husband Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen) becomes the new CEO.In a new interview with Variety, Snook revealed one extra scene was filmed twice that depicted her character returning to the conference room to cast her vote, rather than it lingering on the two brothers after the argument becomes physical. She explained: “The way that [director] Mark Mylod runs the scenes, he will let it run.
