TV favourite Sarah Lancashire is joining Keira Knightley and Ben Wishaw for a new Netflix spy thriller.
The streaming giant confirmed in April that Black Doves, from The Lazarus Project's Joe Barton, was on the way - with Pirates of the Caribbean star Knightley attached. Now they've revealed that Happy Valley and former Coronation Street star Lancashire, from Oldham, will also be starring.
The six-part series, which does not yet have an official release date, sees Knightley take on the role of Helen Webb - a dedicated wife and mother who also happens to be a professional spy. The drama, which is set in London during Christmas, centres on Helen as she shares her politician husband's secrets with her spy organisation.

It's not the only way she's betraying her husband - she has a secret lover, who (spoiler alert) gets assassinated. Lancashire plays Helen's boss Reed, who calls in Helen's old friend Sam - played by This Is Going To Hurt's Ben Wishaw - to protect her.
Helen and Sam find themselves embroiled in a mission that leads them to uncover a huge, interconnected conspiracy. They'll find London's sketchy underworld is linked to a looming geopolitical crisis - but what can they do to stop it?

The series, which is currently filming in London, also features Andrew Buchan, Andrew Koji, Kathryn Hunter and Sam Troughton. Ella Lily Hyland, Adam Silver, Ken Nwosu and Gabrielle Creevy round off the cast.

Squid Game star Park Hae-soo has been cast as the lead in the upcoming Netflix original K-drama, Karma (working title).Based on a Kakao webtoon of the same name, the upcoming original Korean series will be a crime thriller that follows an ensemble cast of characters, whose “disparate lives intertwine under the ominous shadow of an unbreakable fate”, per a press release.The synopsis for the series reads: “The story revolves around a witness to an accident, a physician traumatized by nightmares, a man whose world was upended by an unexpected event and another man drowning in private loans. Each one is bound by the inescapable ties of a terrible destiny, trapped by ill-fated entanglements.”The central figure in Karma will be played by Squid Game actor Park Hae-soo, who will star as the man who makes a life-changing deal after witnessing a mysterious accident.Park will be joined by a star-studded cast, including Shin Min-a (Our Blues), Lee Hee-jun (Chimera), Kim Sung-kyun (Moving), Lee Kwang-soo (The Killer’s Shopping List) and Gong Seung-yeon (The First Responders).Karma will be written and directed by filmmaker Lee Il-hyung, known for his work on 2022’s Remember and 2016’s A Violent Prosecutor.
