Addie Morfoot Contributor Sacha Jenkins and Raquel Cepeda’s Resurgent Pictures has partnered with Imagine Documentaries to develop and co-produce film, television and documentaries.
The partnership with the nonfiction division of Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Entertainment and Resurgent Pictures is a multi-year agreement. Headed by Sara Bernstein, Imagine Documentaries recently co-produced Jenkins’ “Louis Armstrong’s Black & Blues.” The Apple TV+ docu, which debuted at the Toronto Intl.
Film Festival in 2022, explores the life and art of the legendary jazz performer.
“We’ve had an empowering experience with Imagine and are delighted to be working with them on future projects,” Jenkins and Cepeda said in a joint statement. “We believe our companies share a commitment to pushing the boundaries of storytelling, and this collaboration will amplify our creative capabilities.

Jenkins and Capeda, who are married, launched Resurgent Pictures in 2022 as a boutique production company that develops and produces documentary, scripted and commercial content. Under the banner, they have produced a slate of projects including “The Walking Dead: Generation Dead” and “Bitchin’: The Sound and Fury of Rick James.”
The duo will develop and produce projects with the full resources of the Imagine Documentaries, which currently has its own first-look output deal with Amazon Studios.
