There were scenes of horror in the city centre on Wednesday evening (August 16) after two men were left seriously injured after being stabbed in the street.
A huge emergency services presence descended on Dale Street, close to Piccadilly, at around 6.30pm. The area was busy with commuters using nearby car parks or the train station when ambulances and police cars quickly stormed the area on blue lights.
Horrified witnesses reported seeing 'blood on the street' as clothing and debris were left in the middle of the road and paramedics were seen 'performing CPR'.

Police received reports that two men, aged 20 and 30, had been stabbed and both were rushed to hospital from the scene with serious injuries that police say are 'potentially life-threatening' at this time.
Following the horror, three males were arrested on suspicion of assault and remain in custody to be quizzed about the incident as investigations continue.
One local resident told the M.E.N they had 'never seen so many police' as incident response units, ambulances and specialist operations units arrived at the scene before forensics.
Crime scene investigators could be seen taking pictures of evidence on the ground within the cordon, which ran between Luna Street and Ducie Street, with a cordon also in place along a towpath beside the Rochdale Canal.
