Eagle-eyed cops have nicked four people wanted in connection with a high value theft in Edinburgh - more than 200 miles away.
The Audi A4 was initially chased by Police Scotland officers on Wednesday, March 9, before being lost from sight in Lanarkshire.
The silver vehicle was later spotted by road policing officers on the M61 and followed by a force helicopter to Salford in England.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed they have detained all four occupants of the motor.
They added the driver has been charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop and having no licence.
The force tweeted: “The Audi A4 was pursued in Scotland earlier today and lost in Lanarkshire. Picked up by #RPUWest patrols on the M61 it was pursued into Salford.
“Tracked by the National Police Air Service North West Region and abandoned Moss Lane where all 4 occupants were detained.
“Involved in high value theft in Scotland. The driver is to be charged with dangerous driving. Failing to stop. No insurance and no driving licence.
“Police Scotland will be attending to interview regarding the theft of a large quantity of high value mobile phones from Edinburgh.”
Police Scotland tweeted: “Many thanks to our colleagues at @gmptraffic @NPASNorthWest for picking this up and bringing it to a safe conclusion.
“EdinburghPolice send their thanks and look forward to meeting the occupants.”
