Holly Willoughby shocked This Morning fans when she announced that she'd quit the ITV daytime show after 14 years, and now many are wondering who could be set to replace her with Rochelle Humes firmly in the running to take over. Former singer Rochelle, 34, has been working on This Morning as a stand-in host since 2018 and she's proven to be a hit with TV viewers, making her a firm favourite to become a full-time presenter on the show.
Rochelle fronted Wednesday's show alongside fellow stand-in host Craig Doyle and she proved she could take on Holly's role, according to body language expert Judi James. The mum-of-three was reportedly giving off subtle clues that she was "carrying" the show and "keeping it on track", Judi claimed.
The expert went on tell Fabulous that Rochelle gave a strong performance with "wide eyes, raised brows and a smile at the start of the show, next to Craig’s sad look, suggesting she was clearly capable of carrying on professionally despite everything." Judi added: "When the comments about Holly continued on the couch, Rochelle again signalled a desire to keep the show on track, saying ‘Of course we do’ about missing Holly, we saw her eyes were actually on the iPad at that point, searching for the next item." Rochelle and Craig proved to be a "seamless double act" on Wednesday's show, as they "displayed mirror poses". Rochelle is one of the many names rumoured to be in the running to replace Holly, along with Alison Hammond, Rylan Clark, Josie Gibson and Davina McCall.
