Friends of Strictly star Robin Windsor launched a desperate three-day search after he went missing last week.
Former Strictly pro Vincent Simone, who has known Robin since they were teenagers, said that a close friend started calling everyone when Robin disappeared. Sadly, it was too late, and Robin, 44, was found dead in a London hotel room on Monday.
Vincent, also a dancer and planning to work with Robin later this year, shared how his friend's death has left him heartbroken, as writes the Mirror.
He said: "The first thing I thought of when I opened my eyes this morning was Robin. He was the best man I ever met. Robin has had these moments in the past it was an ongoing problem. He would detach himself from people for two or three days. Then he would come back to the world, to reality. But this time, he didn't come back."
Robin had been open about his struggle with depression. However, Vincent, 44, says his troubles began before he left Strictly in 2015 due to a back operation.
He recalls Robin talking about feeling down during his last season on Strictly in 2013, just before he broke up with his fiance Davide Cini.
Vincent shared that Robin's struggle to find a lasting relationship was a constant source of distress. He said: "Robin was always falling in love. It was a big thing for him. The poor man just wanted to be loved. He had loads of love from the rest of us, almost too much."
"But I almost lost count of his boyfriends. He wasn't that person who slept around, but he wanted a full on serious relationship. He was looking for love, a marriage, something serious. I think it was his love life, his relationships, that he struggled with the most."
