Riverdale came to a conclusion after seven seasons on Wednesday (August 23), and the series finale left a subset of fans missing one element – a kiss between co-stars KJ Apa and Cole Sprouse.
Executive producer Sarah Schechter opened up about missing scene. She also addressed one of the key relationships that came together in the finale.

In the season finale, Archie (Apa), Jughead (Sprouse), Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Veronica (Camila Mendes) wound up briefly becoming a quad after multiple romantic pairings between the group.
All of them except for KJ and Cole shared romantic moments. Why?
“I mean, that’s, like, too hot for TV,” Sarah told Variety, adding, “I don’t think there was a reason for it.” She continued, saying that she felt “there’s a fantastic, fantastic amount of LGBTQ representation on the show.”
The quad got together but didn’t wind up staying together, and everyone involved split up. That was intentional.
“Them not ending up together, in a way, is more honest. It also helps you remember that each one of these relationships is equally important in its moment. If anyone ended up with anyone, it would say somehow that it’s more powerful,” Sarah explained. “There’s a maturity to it that I love so much. A person’s life isn’t who they end up with: It’s deeper and more meaningful than that.”
“I thought it was kind of amazing choice, and they kind of all end up in the afterlife together. That allows people to root forever,” she added.
Earlier this month KJ revealed something that he did not love about some of the Riverdale scenes he shot. Meanwhile, Cole commented
