River Island's 'made for spring' £35 bag looks like £360 Jacquemus version sold at Selfridges

Designer handbags are rarely without huge price tags, but luckily for us there's always an affordable fashion retailer waiting in the wings to recreate the latest styles shown on the runways, at a budget-friendly price point. One of the most sought-after Fashion Week labels right now is French fashion house, Jacquemus - and we can definitely see why.
Jacquemus was founded in 2009 by a then 19-year-old designer, Simon Porte Jacquemus, and the brand has seen a surge in popularity in recent years. One of the most popular handbags from the designer is the Le Petit Panier raffia tote bag, which at £360 at Selfridges, isn't particularly cheap.
But we've found a bag from on the high street that looks extremely similar to the Panier bag, but at a fraction of the cost. In fact, it costs ten times less than the Jacquemus version.

River Island's Beige Raffia Diamante Handle Cross Body Bag comes in at £35, a far cry from the Le Petit Panier tote bag's £360 price tag. Like the expensive version, the high street retailer's bag has been constructed from a lightweight but hardwearing raffia fabric, that is made for spring and summer.
It features gold River Island branded hardware and diamante grab top handles, that add a bit of glitz and glamour to the otherwise understated bag. What's more, it also comes with a detachable strap, meaning you can wear it as a crossbody, if you wish.
