A former soldier who verbally and physically abused the mother of his child has walked free from a court after arguing he was 'too immature' to cope with being a father.
Lyas Cullshaw, 23, left his partner with a fractured eye socket and other injuries to her face during a 5.30am row at her home as their baby son lay asleep in his cot.
During the assault, jealous Cullshaw, who suspected his girlfriend had been cheating on him, dragged her onto the landing by her hair then punched her several times in the face. When she retreated to bed sobbing, he told her: ''Take a shower you dirty bitch',' before adding later: ''You got what you deserved.''

When the 21-year-old victim called police, Cullshaw sent her a string of Facebook messages saying criminal charges would cost him his job as lead driller with an engineering firm and he also guilt tripped her over their child.
In rambling posts he told her: '''You're f****** bang out of order after everything I've done for you, taking loads of s*** off you.
''Ringing police on me what the f***? Can't believe I fell for you. How you could do this to me? Nice one lovely. If you had any decency, you would call the police off and do me a favour for the sake of my son. Don't make me lose my job.''
She responded by sending Cullshaw pictures of her injuries saying: ''Why do that to me - the mother of your child? You have no respect for me or our son. I'm done with you and its in the hands of police now.''
But Cullshaw fired back: ''What are your trying to do? Ruin me? Call the police off you madhead. I'm going to lose my job.''
