Kate Middleton never attended Balmoral when the late Queen Elizabeth passed away, with King Charles and his wife Camilla rushing to be at her bedside following his trip in Aberdeenshire he was sadly too late.
Prince Harry had travelled to Scotland to see his late grandmother and Meghan was asked to stay behind in the US, as many people assumed it was the same reason the Princess of Wales never attended although it was in fact her own choice.

According to reports in the Mirror an insider claimed it was "luck" which made the judgement from King Charles on his decision to bar Meghan from the death bed more palatable for the Duke of Sussex.
It comes following Robert Hardman's new biography Charles III: New King, New Court which has been serialised by the Daily Mail.
The unnamed insider alleged: "It was by luck rather than judgement, but it made it a lot easier to tell Harry that he was coming alone." Harry was back in the UK with Meghan at the time and reportedly text his older brother about travel arrangements which he didn't reply to.
Hardman wrote: "'Clearly, Prince William did not regard this as the appropriate moment for the intensely difficult conversation he needed to have with his brother."
