Robson Green has won legions of fans for his roles in TV dramas including Casualty, Soldier Soldier and Wire in the Blood. And the actor is currently back on our screens as Detective Inspector Geordie Keating in ITV's Grantchester.
Along with acting and producing, he's also branched out into presenting in shows including Robson Green's Weekend Escapes on BBC Two. His passion for fishing also led to him hosting Extreme Fishing and Extreme Fishing Challenge.
And some viewers may still find themselves mentally adding another name after Robson's own. He became part of chart-topping pop duo Robson and Jerome with Soldier Soldier co-star Jerome Flynn after their characters performed Unchained Melody in a 1994 episode.

The actors were persuaded into the recording studio after an overwhelming reaction from viewers. They went on to record two albums together before ditching the pop star life to concentrate on their acting careers.

Robson - full name Robson Golightly Green - was born in Hexham, Northumberland on December 18, 1964 to parents Robson and Ann. He grew up in Dudley, a mining village in North Tyneside and has two sisters - Dawn and Joanna and a brother, David.
According to his official website, Robson's name is from a family and North East tradition where a family's oldest son is given a surname for his first name. "Robson" was his grandmother’s maiden name and “Golightly” his great uncle’s surname.
Robson went to Dudley Primary and took on his first starring role at the age of 8, playing the lead in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. He says he also loved planes and for a time at Dudley
