A popular ready made meal that you can find in major supermarkets - including Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Tesco - has been pulled over health and safety concerns.
Charlie Bigham has issued an urgent recall for its Vegetable Lasagne for 1 (365g) and Vegetable Lasagne for 2 (730g) over fears that it may contain small pieces of plastic. Both products have a use by date of October 24.
The food manufacturer said: "As a precautionary measure, Charlie Bighham's is recalling our Vegetable Lasagne with USE BY DATE 24 OCT due to potential risk of plastic being found in our product." The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued the food alert and has warned customers who have purchased the meals not to eat them as they may be unsafe to eat.
Shoppers who have purchased the ready meals are now being urged to return them to the store they were bought in for a full refund, or to contact the Charlie Bigham customer care line for more information.
Point of sale notices have been issued by the food manufacturer to explain to customers why the product has been recalled and what they can do if they have purchased the product.
The exact details of both products that have been recalled as as follows:
Charlie Bigham’s Vegetable Lasagne for 1
Charlie Bigham's Vegetable Lasagne for 2
