A teenager made chilling murder threats as he walked around a housing estate swinging an axe around his head.
When he was eventually apprehended by police, Mitchell Webster said: "It wasn't an axe - it was a machete. Black lives don't matter."
Fiscal depute Bill Kermode told Perth Sheriff Court: "Witnesses saw the accused swinging about what they initially thought was a white pole.
"The accused walked towards them then he ran away. They called police. They then saw him at the shops.
"The accused was heard to say 'I've not come all this way for nothing. I'm going to murder someone.' The witnesses followed the accused at a distance.
"Both got a clear view of the accused swinging an axe, and not a pole as they thought. They continued to follow at a distance and flagged down police.
"The accused climbed over various fences, hiding at the rear of the shops and away from the police. They saw him jumping the last fence and he no longer had the axe."
Officers caught up with Webster, but a police dog was unable to find the weapon.
That is when Webster, now 21, from Perth, told them it had been a machete he was carrying.
Webster said: "Black lives don't matter. Shut your pus, you f****** mongo P*** bastard."
He continued to hurl abuse and refused medical treatment for a cut to his hand.
In the later incident, Webster was seen with knives he had taken from his mother's home and the court heard she was scared about what he might do with them.
Sheriff Francis Gill deferred sentence for six months and said: "It is a concern that you appear for two separate offences involving blades."
Webster admitted having an axe in various Perth streets on July 12, 2020.
He also admitted making threats to kill and racist remarks.
