Princess Beatrice actress in film about Prince Andrew's car-crash interview revealed

Princess Beatrice is to be played by actress Charity Wakefield in the new Netflix film about Prince Andrew’s car crash BBC interview. The upcoming film - called Scoop - is based on a book by producer Sam McAlister, who negotiated and secured the explosive Newsnight booking.
Andrew’s interview with Emily Maitlis in 2019 essentially ended his career as a senior royal - with the Duke of York, 63, speaking about his relationship with the American convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In the years following the broadcast, producer Sam revealed that Andrew’s eldest daughter Beatrice was an unexpected guest at the infamous sit-down.
Now it has emerged the 34-year old royal will be portrayed on screen by 42 year old Charity - the Kent born actress who has previously appeared in the likes of Sense & Sensibility, Wolf Hall and The Player. Charity, confirming the news in a post on Twitter, wrote: “I can finally share that I have the honour of playing HRH Princess Beatrice in the forthcoming film Scoop for Netflix.” Gillian Anderson is set to play Emily Maitlis in the film - while Billie Piper has been cast as producer Sam.
Charity went on to describe the cast as ‘quite frankly, frighteningly good’. Around two years after the BBC interview aired, Sam spoke of how Beatrice came to the studio with her father as an unexpected guest.
Appearing on This Morning, Sam said the Princess coming along was a 'real curveball'.
