A day for the history books. Prince William and Princess Kate looked nothing short of regal while arriving at King Charles III’s coronation on Saturday, May 6.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived at Westminster Abbey sporing their “formal robe and mantle at the request of the King and Queen,” according to BBC. By their side were children Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, matching their parents in white and royal blue attire, respectively. Charlotte’s look particularly complimented her mother’s, as both wore white Alexander McQueen dresses and stunning headpieces by Jess Collett x Alexander McQueen.
The couple’s eldest son, Prince George, 9, did not arrive alongside them, as he was among Charles’ four Pages of Honor. He matched his fellow pages in a red royal uniform.
Charles’ coronation comes less than one year after the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022, upon which he immediately assumed the throne. William in turn moved up the royal line of succession since his father took over as King of England. Charles’ eldest son inherited his former title of Prince of Wales and is now first in line for the throne. George, Charlotte and Louis follow their father as second, third and fourth in line, ranking above their uncle Prince Harry and his children.
