In a resurfaced interview from 2017, the Duke of Sussex admitted he had previously "wanted out" of the Firm and dreamed of an "ordinary life".
During a chat with the prince, which was later reported in the Mail On Sunday, Harry, then 32, opened up about his struggles in his family but revealed that he had chosen to stick it out thanks to one relative.
He reportedly confessed: "I spent many years kicking my heels and I didn't want to grow up.
"I felt I wanted out but then decided to stay in and work out a role for myself."
The duke said he decided to stay after he was motivated by his loyalty to his late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II.
In the same interview, just a year after meeting Meghan, Harry spoke of his future hopes for him and his children some day.
