The Duke of Sussex has arrived at Westminster Abbey for the coronation of his father, King Charles III. Prince Harry is no longer an official working royal and is not responsible for any duties during the ceremony. Harry arrived alongside the Duke of York and the Princess Royal.
The ceremony will start at 11am with around 2,000 guests witnessing the coronation of King Charles and Camilla, the Queen Consort. After the ceremony there will be a procession behind the Gold State Coach, carrying the newly crowned King and Queen from Westminster Abbey back to Buckingham Palace, but there are no plans for Harry to participate in it.
Harry’s brother, Prince William, the heir to the throne, and his eldest son George have been given official roles in the ceremony. It’s Harry’s first public appearance after he criticised Charles, Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales in his memoir Spare.
Meghan Markle has stayed at home in California with their children Archie and Lilli as they celebrate Archie’s fourth birthday today. Harry and Meghan stepped back as working royals in January 2020 after suffering intense media and public scrutiny, they then moved to the US.
Attending the coronation are foreign monarchs, politicians, world leaders and celebrities, including Katy Perry and Ant and Dec.

The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, has returned to California after catching a British Airways flight within hours of his father King Charles’ Coronation.
