‘Precious’ boy, 2, has ‘life changed forever’ after heart-breaking diagnosis

The parents of a ‘precious’ little boy have been left ‘completely and utterly heartbroken’ after their son was diagnosed with cancer at just two years old.
After multiple trips to the GP and A&E over the last month Daylen’s family had their lives 'changed forever’ last week when he was given the diagnosis they had been ‘dreading’ and told he has leukaemia.
Daylen’s mum Laurie Birkbeck said Daylen had been ‘poorly’ for the past month and was diagnosed with a UTI, whooping cough, and viral infections during multiple visits to the GP and A&E.

Last week Daylen was admitted to the North Manchester General Hospital and underwent an urgent brain scan which revealed a tumour behind his left eye. He was transferred to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital the following day and after multiple tests and scans was diagnosed with leukaemia. He is now starting chemotherapy treatment.
In an emotional post on social media, his mum Laurie wrote: “One week ago our lives changed forever. We were admitted to the children’s Kuala Unit at North Manchester Hospital.
"As many of you will know, our precious boy Daylen has been poorly for the past month.
"After different diagnoses of UTI, whooping cough, viral infections, multiple trips back and forth to the GP and A&E, someone finally took us seriously.
"An urgent brain scan on arrival to the Kuala Unit revealed Daylen had a tumour behind his left eye, his bloods were all deranged and we would be transferred over to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital the following day.
