Schoolkids in Scotland are being targeted by a sinister WhatsApp group that shows them pornographic images.
Primary school pupils are being invited to join the group, which is called 'Biggest Group Chat'. Once they are added, they are then sent indecent images of adult men.
Children are also being asked by other group members to share the names of the schools that they attend. Officers from Police Scotland confirmed they are investigating the matter.
The group, which has 480 members, encourages users to "add all your contacts until we make the biggest group chat". One parent told how her 11-year-old daughter was recently invited to join by her friend, who had no knowledge of its intent.
When the parent checked the media of the group, they were left "disgusted" to find numerous pornographic images of men on their daughter's phone.
The parent told the Record: "I was made aware of this group chat on Tuesday. I checked my kids' phones and both of them had it. Kids are asked to join and also asked what school they attend.
“My 11-year-old daughter was added to this group chat by a friend who obviously didn’t know what it was. Thankfully, she had heard chat about it in the playground and came to me about it.
“I looked at the chat which was full of images. I opened one which was a pornographic picture of a man. I deleted the chat and told her that if she was added to it again she was to tell me.
"It’s disgusting that children are being encouraged to share this and add their friends. I’d urge parents to keep a close eye on their kid’s chats.
“After the chat is deleted, be sure to check the photo gallery on the phone as the images that have been viewed can show up in that.”
