Zoe Hunter and Amanda Rodgers, who formed They Bake in 2020, announced exciting news about their second shop at the site of the former Electric Bakery back in February.
Zoe, 32, and Amanda, 33, who already have a shop in Newmarket Street, have worked on their new shop since March and are "excited" to welcome their customers to the renovated site.
Zoe shared with Ayrshire Live: "The renovations are going well! Very full on as we are trying to do a lot of it ourselves while trying to run the bakery still. We are either picking up a paintbrush or a spatula.
"We’ve done all the cleaning and painting ourselves and roped in our husbands, Michael and Jason and our little people Nixon and Caleb to lend a helping hand. We’ve had the professionals in to sort the plumbing, electrical, tiling and joinery work, just so the place doesn’t fall apart!
"Finishing touches will continue till probably the hour before opening. This week the flooring is going down, tiling, flower walls being installed, outside signage, inside signage basically everything is coming together this week and it’s making us so excited for opening."
Amanda continued: "We’ve only had the keys since March 8 but due to still working full time in our bakery we’ve really only been able to get work done at weekends and evenings so it’s been a very quick turnaround.
"The most challenging thing for us is time! There is never enough hours in the day. The mum guilt is real! We have already done this with the Ayr shop but that was three years ago so it’s like starting again making sure we don’t forget anything important."
