A "pocket dial" to 911 on Monday led police to a woman and her three children who were being held captive at knifepoint in Nevada. The Mesquite Police Department said 34-year-old Justin Carter tried to stab the woman while in his home city of Las Vegas before kidnapping her and her three children, KVVU Las Vegas reported. Police said the woman and Carter had a prior relationship.

Mark Wahlberg is focusing on what is best for his family. The Hollywood star opened up about his plans for the future, revealing that he wants to give his kids a “better life” and has made the decision to move out from his $90 million mansion in California, for a fresh start in Nevada.The celebrity family is moving to a different state, and it seems the actor is doing it for his kids, as he wants them to make their dreams come true away from Hollywood.

Roving gangs have gained power throughout Haiti over the past 15 months in the wake of former President Jovenel Moïse's assassination, blockading essential ports and terrorizing citizens who are increasingly in need of basic supplies like food and medicine.  The Biden administration announced this week that it will deploy security assistance to Haiti's National Police and issue visa restrictions on Haitian officials involved with gangs.  The move falls short of "a specialized armed force" that Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry requested from the international community, an action that U.S. Sen.

The death of Kiely Rodni, a California 16-year-old who vanished after an end-of-summer high school party near Lake Tahoe in August, has officially been ruled an accidental drowning, authorities announced Thursday. Rodni was last seen shortly after midnight at a large party near the Prosser Creek Reservoir, in the Tahoe National Forest near Truckee, California.  Authorities initially treated her disappearance as a possible abduction and searched the area for more than two weeks without finding any signs of the missing girl or her vehicle, a silver Honda CRV. Despite conducting more than 100 interviews, investigators struggled to locate anyone who had seen her leave the area – accessed by a bumpy dirt road.

As they have been for most elections the past decade, two of Nevada’s four U.S. House races are in the swing-seat spotlight as Democratic incumbents Reps. Susie Lee and Steven Horsford seek re-election in the western battleground state.

Mark Wahlberg has left Hollywood behind and moved out of the state to put his family first. Wahlberg, 51, revealed on Tuesday’s "The Talk" that he and his wife moved their four children to Nevada to give them a "better life." During the episode, Wahlberg discussed how he balances his career while also being a present father and husband.

President Biden will attend a big-ticket fundraiser for House Democrats Thursday evening alongside Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., in Los Angeles. Tickets for the high-profile Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee event start at $5,000, with the top-spending attendees shelling out a whopping $50,000 per head, according to a Deadline report.  Though the hosts of the event remain unknown, the fundraiser will be held in Brentwood, one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Los Angeles and home to some of Hollywood’s biggest names including Gwyneth Paltrow, Lebron James and Tom Brady. The fundraiser is part of Biden’s four-day-long western U.S.

Democratic strategist Paul Begala slammed "pain-in-the-a--' White liberals on Twitter," claiming that people of color are the real heart of the Democratic Party.  Begala, during a Tuesday appearance on "CNN Tonight," Begala got into a heated back and forth with Forward Party founder Andrew Yang on whether President Biden has the vigor to win re-election in 2024.  Describing himself as a guy who "loves Joe Biden," Begala claimed that the current president would "steamroll" Trump in a second election, as well as any Democrat who may seek to challenge him.  "I spoke before or after Joe Biden half a dozen times," Yang said, referring to the 2020 debates. "And the fact is, when he came off that stage, you know what people were not saying? That guy has the energy, the vigor–" "All of a sudden he developed it," Begala interjected.

The California cities of San Bernardino, Oakland and Los Angeles have been ranked among the state’s most dangerous cities, according to a new study from WalletHub. "Threats to safety in the U.S. come in many forms, from the continued presence of the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters to mass shootings and traffic accidents," WalletHub’s financial writer Adam McCann said, describing the intent of the study.

Gov. Steve Sisolak, D-Nev., lost an endorsement from a top teachers union in his race for re-election for not sufficiently addressing educational issues, and the announcement comes after several recent polls show him falling behind Republican challenger Joe Lombardo in the Nevada governor's race. The Clark County Education Association (CCEA) announced that after interviewing both gubernatorial candidates, they will not be making any endorsements for this year's election, despite endorsing Sisolak in the 2018 gubernatorial race.

A former Blue Angels flight leader issued a response Tuesday to a San Francisco Democrat who suggested banning the historic Navy air squadron, inviting him to come see the show for himself.  Captain Eric Doyle joined "Fox & Friends First" to discuss his reaction to the suggestion and the broader theme surrounding the fighter jet demonstration.  "I think he should come join us at Fleet Week and see some of his constituents," Doyle told co-host Carley Shimkus. "Fleet Week is one of the best air shows of the season.

A San Francisco city council member who suggested that the Blue Angels should be banned from the city’s airspace expressed his frustration Sunday about outside criticism of the city and its policies.  District 5 Supervisor Dean Preston, a self-described Democratic socialist, asked why so many outside San Francisco – with no connection to the Bay Area – are "so focused on San Francisco housing policy and constantly attacking SF tenants, BIPOC residents, and progressive local elected officials? The Blue Angels' scheduled show in San Francisco, California, for Fleet Week was canceled Sunday due to weather conditions, and a Democrat city council member suggested the planes not be permitted in the city's skies. District 5 Supervisor Dean Preston, a self-described Democratic socialist, said the planes should be banned from the city's airspace. "The Blue Angels should not be allowed to fly over San Francisco," he wrote on Twitter.

Fox News host Mark Levin skewered Democratic Party policies as being "man-made" disasters during his Sunday monologue on "Life, Liberty, & Levin." "Why do the Democrats hate America?" Levin asked as he cited a litany of worsening American problems. "U.S. murder rate highest in 25 years as big cities shatter records.
