Police have launched an appeal to track down a Scots man described by Angus locals as looking "all black and blue".
Michael Nicoll was last seen leaving a Tesco supermarket in Arbroath at around 5.30pm on Monday May 2.
Police say they are concerned for the Arbroath man's welfare after an earlier appeal to identify him saw residents come forward on social media to say he appeared to have facial injuries.
The 34-year-old is described as between 5ft 11ins and 6ft in height, of average build with short brown hair.
When last seen he was wearing a maroon top, blue jeans and grey trainers. He wears glasses.
Police made an appeal earlier on Monday in a bid to identify Michael, with a missing persons notice issued later that night.
One local said on Facebook on Monday she had seen him in a nearby chemist, and that "his face looked like he'd been in an accident or a fight".
Another wrote: "His face was all black and blue and had glasses on."
A third added: "I saw him in Tesco around 5.15pm, his glasses are broken and taped up one one eye piece with black tape! His face was a mess!"
Inspector Martin Jenkins, of Police Scotland's Tayside Division, said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have seen Michael or knows of his whereabouts to get in touch with Police. There are concerns for his welfare.
“We urge anyone with any information get in touch with us, and Michael if you see this, please let us know you are okay.”
Anyone with any information should contact Police via 101, quoting incident number 3421 of Monday, 2nd May, 2022.
