Police say they're now investigating two disturbances in the early hours of this morning that may be linked.
We told you earlier today that cops descended on Paterson Avenue in Irvine just before 2am.
Police initially said that four people had been arrested in connection with the incident after a 46-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment.
Cops are continuing to investigate the matter alongside another incident on Caldon Road that took place just after 8am that may be linked to the earlier disturbance.
Officers have since clarified the sequence of events with one 42-year-old man arrested in connection with the Paterson Avenue incident.
Officials now say that two men, aged 30 and 26, along with one woman, aged 29, have been arrested in connection with the Caldon Road disturbance.
Police are now working to establish if the two incidents are linked.
Police were still at the scene of the first incident around 12 hours after the disturbance was reported.
Experts in forensic outfits could be seen on Paterson Avenue with portions of the road also taped off by cops.
One local reported that police were knocking on doors for witnesses at around 3.40am this morning.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Following further enquiries, officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances of two separate incidents in Irvine.
"Around 1.50am on Thursday, 6 July, 2023, officers were called to a report of a disturbance in the Paterson Avenue area.
"Emergency services attended and a 46-year-old man was taken to University Hospital Crosshouse for treatment.
"A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this incident and enquiries are ongoing.
