The next generation of gaming is almost here, as Sony is gearing up to release its newest virtual reality headset. The PlayStation VR 2 will drop later this month, allowing gamers to fully immerse themselves in a host of new adventures.
A huge leap forward in gaming technology, the PS VR2 will drop gamers into worlds that look and feel real, letting them feel like they are well and truly in the game. It is the second version of Sony’s virtual reality gaming headset, following the release of PlayStation VR in 2016.
The original PS VR was well received upon its release, and had sold five million units as of January 2020, according to market and consumer data platform Statista. Its successor, the VR2, has been six years in the making, developed alongside the PlayStation 5, which was released in November 2020.
