A man has faced criticism online after he admitted skipping the queue to disembark his flight when it landed.
The passenger was seated to the rear of the plane, but when it touched down he noticed that none of those sitting near him had stood up yet to join the queue to exit the aircraft. Seeing an opportunity, he decided to bypass his fellow flyers and walked straight to the front of the queue - a move that quickly angered those around him, the Mirror reports.
Taking to Reddit, he protested that he didn't jump the queue as those sitting in front of him had the chance to get up, but weren't yet organised. Posting anonymously, he explained: "I was sat towards the very back of the plane when we landed.
"People at the front got up to get ready but no one in the middle section got up. I was in the aisle seat and I only had a backpack, so I took the opportunity and walked to the front of the plane to lineup behind the people in the very front."
He added that when people saw what he was doing, someone told him to wait at the back of the plane like everybody else - but he pretended not to hear his fellow passenger as he had headphones on.
"I didn't respond again but this time there was a lady behind me who said she needed to catch her connecting flight that was already boarding.
"The lady who had the connecting flight definitely had a valid reason to "cut" in line, but when was this ever a rule? I don't think I did anything wrong because everyone who I "skipped" could have gotten up and waited in the aisle."
Taking to the comments, many condemned the man for not waiting his turn and said he acted unreasonably.
One person wrote: "What is it with people who stand up the minute the plane comes to a stop. You're not going anywhere anyway."

Zack Sharf Digital News Director “Rick and Morty” creator Justin Roiland has been cleared of domestic violence charges, Variety confirms. Kimberly Edds, spokeswoman for the Orange County District Attorney’s office, said in a statement: “We dismissed the charges today as a result of having insufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.” Roiland took to social media to respond to the dropped charges, writing in a statement that he is “thankful the case has been dismissed. He added, “I’m still deeply shaken by the horrible lies that were reported about me during this process.” Roiland appeared in court in January for a pre-trial hearing after he was charged with one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit. He pleaded not guilty to the charges in 2020. A second pre-trial hearing was scheduled for April 27.

New Order have formally backed the latest iteration of the #LetTheMusicMove campaign after performing and keynoting at South By South West in Austin, Texas earlier this week, urging the US government to rethink plans to hike the price of performer visas. The US Department Of Homeland Security announced plans earlier this year to significantly increase the price of applying for the kinds of visas used by performers when they gig and tour in the US. Given surging production costs are already making it harder for all but the biggest artists to tour in a commercially viable way, the additional visa costs could make it impossible for many UK acts to play American shows. The UK’s Music Managers Forum and Featured Artists Coalition originally launched the #LetTheMusicMove campaign in a bid to tackle the extra bureaucracy British artists face when touring Europe post-Brexit.

John Hopewell Chief International Correspondent MALAGA, Spain — It’s not over yet. In March 2021, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced the government would plow €1.6 billion ($1.9 billion) into a Spain AVS Hub plan designed to turn Spain into one of the foremost film and TV hubs in Europe. Supported by Spain’s E.U-backed Recuperation, Transformation and Resilience push for post COVID-19 recovery, the Spain AVS Hub plan has been co-financed by part of a €806.9 billion ($866.5 billion) NextGenerationEU stimulus package for the whole of the European Union, which is a temporary instrument. As that package ends, Spain’s government will look to negotiate funding from alternative sources to ensure that Spain AVS Hub initiatives are more than a flash in the pan, a broad cross-section of governmental authorities told an audience Tuesday at a Malaga Spanish Screening Content conference.
