Those watching the National Television Awards were left stunned as Phillip Schofield made an unexpected 'appearance'. The presenter hasn't been seen on-screen since his bombshell interview with the BBC following his shock This Morning exit.
Phillip, 61, initially 'stepped back' from his role on the ITV daytime show after more than 20 years as he said rumours about his fractured relationship behind the scenes with Holly Willoughby had 'become the story' However, he then issued his resignation a week later after he admitted to an “unwise but not illegal” relationship with a younger male colleague on the show.
But since then, This Morning has also faced claims of toxicity and bullying behind the scenes. Despite the issues, the programme was shortlisted for the 'daytime' gong at the National Television Awards which took place on Tuesday night (September 5).

However This Morning, who had been on a winning streak having taken home the gong every year since 2011, lost its best daytime show title at the 2023 NTAs as The Repair Shop claimed the prestigious prize.
The BBC One show's host Jay Blades gave Holly a hug before heading up on stage where he encouraged the crowd to cheer as the show’s team joined him and snapped a picture of the moment as he noted it was a "rarity" for them to be winning the prize.
He thanked those who voted and the team behind the show, adding: "I would like to salute my experts, they are my family." Jay also praised his fellow nominees at This Morning, The Chase and Loose Women, saying: "We’re the new kids on the block and I’m glad we’ve won this time. I know it won’t be a regular thing so thank you."
