Thania Garcia Peso Pluma, Justin Quiles, DJ Deorro, Farruko, Jay Wheeler, Yng Lvcas and rising star Gabito Ballesteros have been revealed as performers for the Latin American Music Awards (Latin AMAs) on April 25. Mexican music’s big year will be well represented by Peso who returns to the Latin AMA stage after making his TV debut there last year. Peso, along with reggaeton star Feid, is the most nominated artist of the night with 12 recognitions, including nods in coveted categories like artist of the year, new artist of the year, song of the year, album of the year, and collaboration of the year, among others.
Mexican singer Ballesteros is also up for new artist of the year and best regional Mexican artist. He is set to sing his songs “Lou Lou” and “El Boss.” Puerto Rican singer Farruko is nominated for best pop song, and Jay Wheeler will be celebrating the release of his album “Música Buena Para Días Malos” with a world premiere performance. In addition, singer-songwriter Yng Lvcas is set to showcase his catchy new single “Jimmy Choo,” while DJ Deorro will deliver a special performance along with singer-songwriter Justin Quiles.
Behind Peso and Feid, Bad Bunny and Grupo Frontera lead the nominations list with 11 each. Karol G and Shakira each tout nine nominations, and Eslabon Armado and Fuerza Regida have eight. There are 27 categories, with a total of 76 nominees that span all musical genres including pop, urban, música Mexicana and tropical.
