Asked about the fitness of his squad, Guardiola said: "I think John is still not ready, Kevin is not ready, Bernardo is not okay, I think the rest is fine."
But Stones, who hasn't played since the Community Shield due to a muscle injury, could be in line for a return next week and is currently training on his own as part of his recovery process.
"He's better, we spoke and he feels good, [he is] training alone. Maybe next week or after Leipzig [he returns to training]."
Stones could have been utilised this week with Rodri suspended, but Guardiola added: "It is what it is. It's a pity but if you are not you are not, have to find a solution. The players want to come back. Recover and come back."
