Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has explained why Manchester United are a 'million miles' away from Manchester City.

“Rashford, Greenwood, they chased Sancho for god knows how long – they did that to play counter attacking football on the break.
“They don’t have the defenders to play this open, expansive style that the old Man United used to play. They’ll get ripped to shreds, so they play a tight compact situation and break from there.
“They played Ronaldo and Cavani up front – where is the future in that? This is going on and on and on."
Rangnick will remain in charge at United until the end of the season before taking an advisory role at the club, aiding the search for a new manager in the summer.
Merson feels United must get this appointment right, and wonders how long it'll take to change the club's fortunes to be able to compete with the likes of Man City and Liverpool.
