Shortly after Paloma Faith took to the stage to perform at King Charles' Coronation concert at Windsor Castle, Twitter's #CoronationConcert hashtag took off. Watchers of the show were keen to praise the singer for her flawless vocals, but a vast majority also headed to the app to ask one very important question: has Paloma raided Sam Smith's wardrobe for the night? Of course, they're comparing the singer's concert look to Sam's iconic February 2023 BRIT Awards look – an inflatable latex jumpsuit.
If we're honest, we can see the similarities. While Paloma is wearing a red gown over the top of, what looks like, a latex suit and Sam went for a full black latex jumpsuit, the inflated appearance of the singers' outfits does make them look similar.
If you can't quite remember the details to Sam's BRITs outfit, their suit was form-fitting around their chest while the arms and legs of the design featured large air bubbles. It’s hard to describe the exact look, you really just have to look at the pictures to get a good idea of what we’re talking about. The point is, we do have to wonder if Paloma pulled from Sam's look for this Coronation ensemble.
Other Twitter users are also pointing out that Paloma seems to have taken inspiration from another famous singer, Lady Gaga, who has been known to don a bit of latex in the name of fashion. "Has #PalomaFaith raided #samsmith wardrobe!?!??" asks one Twitter user, while a second writes: "Nice of Sam Smith to loan their outfit to Paloma Faith." A third chimes in with: "Paloma Faith with an outfit borrowed from Sam Smith's wardrobe there," with a fourth tweeting: "Paloma Faith dressed like Lady GaGa and Sam Smith had a lovechild".
