Outlander fans are counting down the days until season seven, part two.
The current ‘Droughtlander’ has been easier to stomach than some have been as only half of the episodes have been screened so far due to an extra lengthy series on the back of the Covid pandemic.
But with no official air date announced just yet, hints have been dropped about what could be in store for the likes of Jamie and Claire Fraser, played by Sam Heughan and Caitríona Balfe.
Actress Caitriona has even teased herself that some challenging times lie in store in the next part of season seven, which is expected to be broadcast before spring.
As writes the Express, she previously stated that episode 11 in particular was tough for her to film as she said: “I'm going to be a bit vague because it's stuff I can't really, really talk about but I think it's episode 11.”
The next part of the series is promising darker twists and unexpected returns of some familiar faces, as well as new cast members and more of the drama fans are used to. Filming took place shortly after the death of Caitriona’s father, meaning she found it harder to get herself into the zone.
She added: ““There's a scene, there's a sequence of scenes that were really, really challenging. I think my [low point] was trying to figure out how we were going do it and it was really tough." But despite finding it hard, she added that challenging scenes like that usually end up being the most rewarding.
Season 7, part 2 of Outlander is based on Diana Gabaldon's seventh and eighth books in her popular series which inspired the show, An Echo in the Bone and Written in My Own Blood.
