Only Fools and Horses' Damien Trotter actor 'unrecognisable' in EastEnders

Only Fools and Horses appeared back on screens for a Christmas special episode in 2001, and it featured Del Boy Trotter's troublemaking young son.

Damien Trotter, played by Ben Smith, was often described as the "devil child" when he appeared in several episodes following Del Boy and Rodney becoming millionaires.

Since then, the actor has appeared in several TV shows and films, and looks "unrecognisable" from his childhood days, the Mirror reports.

In much-loved festive episodes of the British sitcom, Damien was known for annoying his uncle Rodney - although his parents thought he was a "chip off the old block".

Ben Smith told at Only Fools fan convention he was proud to be one of seven actors playing Damien explaining: "I think Damien is a modern young Del Boy perhaps that we never actually saw growing up but all the references we get from the show from when he was younger he seemed like a real 'jack the lad'.

"So I'd imagine that Damien is a modern young version keeping up-to-date with gangster rap and all that culture."

After his stint on Only Fools and Horses, Ben went on to feature in multiple other TV shows including EastEnders, where he played troublesome Tegs Teague.

He appeared as the main leader of a gang called "the E20" who stole from the market, harassed Dot Branning, and tried to verbally abuse Shirley Carter.

During four episodes in 2008, Tegs wreaked havoc in Albert Square and eventually stabbed Jay Brown before getting arrested.

He's also featured in top series such as Teachers, The Bill, Help! I'm a Teenage Outlaw, Misfits, Doctor Who, Holby City, Silent Witness, and Goodnight Mister Tom, among others.
