While on Today with Hoda and Jenna, Nikki acknowledged that Tom might not have been totally prepared for the special.
“I feel like maybe he didn’t consider the backlash from his family and how it would affect them, and I do understand that,” she mused.

Nikki continued, adding, “I think it’s kind of a thing you say after the fact, but it’s impossible to me that he didn’t consider what could’ve happened.”
She said that she wondered if Tom was really prepared for people to take the jokes as far as they did.
“But there’s a part of me that thinks that Tom Brady, especially given his career and how much people love him, nobody has ever said a bad thing to him in the past 30 years. So he didn’t know that anyone was capable of going there,” she said.
The comedian also got the sense that he wasn’t loving the show as it was being filmed. She said that it seemed to take him a while to come up with how he was going to laugh at jokes and added that he seemed “jarred.”
